Minnesota's Munsinger Clemens Gardens is home to dozens of peacocks, and they're in need of some TLC.
The St. Cloud Times reports the birds live in an "inadequate" and "depressing" enclosure with no running water or temperature controls.
"The wire fencing and dirty hay don't resemble the pristine condition of the gardens," Penny White, chair of the Friends of the Gardens group, tells the Star Tribune.
The group is raising money to improve the peacocks' living quarters, which will include a children's play area, a peacock mural, and an expansion of the restroom and storage structure.
"Not only will the upgrade improve life for the peacocks, but it will also improve the experience of the 350,000 annual visitors and maintenance staff," White says.
"Additionally, it will improve views of the Mississippi River. This initiative is much needed and deserves your unwavering support."
